All energy drain effects afflicting the recipient are removed.
Any non-divine related experience point loss is reversed if suffered within 1 day per caster level previous to the casting of the spell. This includes changes to class or alignment*. Some types of experience point loss cannot be regained, per the GM.
All ability scores drained are restored.
All ability score damage is healed.
Effects that negatively modify the recipient's ability scores are removed (e.g. feeblemind, curses, etc.).
If the recipient is afflicted with insanity, this affliction is cured/removed.
* Because this spell is granted directly by the cleric's deity, the GM must determine if the deity regards the recipient worthy—a high bar and typically only granted to worshipers of exceptional devotion.
Considerations
When the spell is cast, the caster ages 3 years.
If the caster is affected by aging, the caster must make a System Save or die (save avoids dying).
Limitations
The spell only affects living creatures.
The spell does not affect extra-planar creatures.
Necromantic [energy drain]
Level Cleric 7
Components V, S
Casting Time 3 rounds
Range Touch
Area of Effect One creature
Duration Instantaneous
Save None
This spell drains a life energy level from the target touched.
After the caster completes the spell, they must touch a living target creature using a melee contact attack.
A target touched suffers 1 level of permanent energy drain (no save).
A humanoid target that dies due to energy drain immediately becomes a juju zombie under the control of the caster.
Considerations
When the spell is cast, the caster ages 3 years.
If the caster is affected by aging, the caster must make a System Save or die (save avoids dying).
If the caster touches an undead creature with this spell, the caster is instead energy drained and the undead is granted +1 hit die. Both effects are permanent.
Limitations
The spell only affects living creatures (or undead, see above).
Extra-planar creatures are immune to energy drain.
Performance Rating Notes. Evil clerics using restoration will gain a performance rating mark. Unless the GM rules otherwise, Good clerics attempting to cast energy drain will fail the casting of the spell and lose all powers until atonement occurs.
