This spell can change the appearance of the environment by adding, changing, or taking away existing objects or features.
While similar to the spell, hallucinatory forest, this spell is not limited to plant life. Thus, walls can be made where none were before, pits or ravines added or covered, bridges made to appear or disappear, etc. Only terrain features can be changed. Objects other than plant life growing an an area cannot be changed, although terrain features can be made to cover them. Growing plant life (not including plant creatures) are considered terrain features and can be removed, added or modified. The spell can be used to cover entrances, doors or doorways, windows, shafts, etc.
The spell includes sight, sound, smell, and heat (all appears normal when viewed with infravision).
The overall area must be one square or rectangle in shape no smaller than square area based on caster type. The entire area affected must be contiguous.
Creatures encountering a hallucination do not gain a saving throw.
However, any creature with an Intelligence rating of 5 or higher that contacts the hallucination with a limb or held item will dispel the hallucination (the entire spell ends/is discharged).
Other interactions, such as those by lower Intelligence creatures or objects (even missile weapons), appear to interact believably with the illusion, although creatures will pass through it.
When cast, the spell caster can choose the duration. Each spell caster can maintain only one permanent casting of this spell per caster level.
When cast, one edge of the spell must be within the spell's range of the caster.
Limitations.
Because even casual contact will dispel the magic, using this spell in areas frequented by intelligent denizens will cause it to end rather quickly.
Material Components. The component is a bit of substance intended to be added or altered by the illusion. E.g. A bit of stone, wood, twig, or leaf. The component is consumed in the casting. Cost/Scarcity. Free/Common.
