The caster conjures an aerial servant to retrieve something or someone.
When cast, an aerial servant is conjured to the caster's location from the Elemental Plane of Air.
The elemental can only be tasked with the retrieval of some object or a named creature (an individual). Otherwise, the caster can exercise magical control over the aerial servant and have it attack a target within line of sight when the elemental is conjured. If commanded to attack, the elemental will consider its mission complete once the target is slain or flees (such that pursuit is impossible).
In order to retrieve a remote object or individual, the exact location (e.g. building, site) must be given as well as a detailed description of the item or individual.
Once the aerial servant encounters a match in the location, it will endeavor to bring the object or creature back to the caster. Note that is is relatively easy to fool an aerial servant by having multiple duplicate (in appearance) objects in the location or even similar-appearing individuals.
An aerial servant is considered to have a Strength score of 24 in regards to opening portals or other Strength checks (during the retrieval process) and can carry up to 1,000 lbs. (and still fly a normal speed).
The aerial servant will not use wind buffet attacks unless attacked by creatures other than the target and the servant is unable to grab its target (it cannot touch the target). The servant will remain near the target for up to an hour before it goes insane (see the creature's description in Vile Monsters).
Duration. The aerial servant will remain until the spell duration lapses, its mission is completed, the caster dispels the spell, another caster dispels the elemental, the elemental is destroyed, or the caster dies.
Additional Requirements. While not listed as a material component, if a caster conjures an aerial servant without a holy/unholy symbol or some sort of religious relic used to establish mental control, the elemental will immediately attack the caster unless they are protected by a protection from evil/good spell or they are within the confines of a thaumatugic triangle or thaumatugic circle. These protections will also keep an insane aerial servant from attacking the caster (but must remain effective for the full remaining duration of the spell).
