The caster can gain information from the stone in an area.

The caster can cause a bit of stone in an area to relate the following types of information:

• • The types of creatures that touched or stepped on them including detailed descriptions. Time can be related as can numbers. If the area is highly trafficked, the information will be general unless the caster queries for particular individuals or types.

  • If the stone area touched covers an opening, a general description of the area beyond can be imparted as well as those using the portal (as per above).

  • The stone can be worked or natural and can be an object (e.g. a statue or stone door).

Material Components. A bit of clay and drop of mercury. There are approximately 200 drops of mercury to an ounce (there is a high amount of waste). The component is consumed in the casting of the spell. Cost/Scarcity. 75 g.p. per ounce/Rare.
