Area of Effect One Evil Outsider

Save None (see description)
This ritual allows the spell caster to cause pain to an Evil outsider and can be used to force the creature to be bound to it's originating plane or threaten it with the binding.
This spell is only effective against an Evil outsider if the caster has knowledge of the being's true-name, the being is present (in material or astral-clone form), and the caster has previously prepared a special scroll that must be used during the ritual.
Spiritwrack Scroll. The caster must spend 4d8 hours (contiguous) and 6,000 g.p. preparing a special scroll keyed to the individual creature to be affected. This scroll is used during the casting of the spell. See also Material Components.
Casting Time. The spell takes effect over three rounds while the caster concentrates (as per casting a spell). During each round, the target will be subject to a certain number of effects.
Saving Throw. As soon as the spell casting begins, a magic resistance check must be made, if appropriate. If the magic is resisted, the creature will either (d%; 01-90) flee, preferrably to it's own plane, using teleport (or flee using other means), or (91-00) stay and attack. If the target cannot flee, it acts as it can although while the scroll is read, it will be agitated and uncomfortable. If the target stays to attack, it can only attack allies of the caster as the caster is immune to the creatures attacks (of any kind) while spell casting continues (for a maximum of three rounds). Once the casting is complete and the scroll is consumed, the target is free to attack the caster.
Duration. The caster can pause the casting after the first or second round - indefinitely. However, if the scroll is damaged in any way, the magic of the spell ends.
Round 1. As soon as the spell casting begins (and the magic is not resisted), the target is rooted to the spot and cannot move from there (magically restrained; even magic means of escape such as teleport will fail). While it can attack those in range or use ranged attacks, it cannot affect the caster by any means (no physical attacks or magical attacks, even those with an area of effect). As the round progresses, the target's discomfort intensifies. Once the first round of reading/casting is complete, the caster can choose to pause and engage the target in conversation. At any time desired by the caster, they can use the scroll to begin round 2 of casting.
Round 2. During the second round of the casting/reading, the target experiences searing pain and takes 1 point of damage per hit die. At the end of the round, the target is in wracking pain. Again, the caster can choose to pause at the end of round 2, and the creature will be stuck in the spot and in excruciating pain for as long as the caster desires.
Round 3. During the final round of casting, the target will howl in pain as it loses 50% of it's hit points remaining, and, at the end of the final round of casting, it is banished back to it's plane, confined in a proscribed spot (as desired by the caster or one selected randomly based on the caster's desires). The target is then imprisoned in that locale, ungoing torturous pain, for 1 year per caster level.
Effects of Spiritwrack Pain. After round 1 of casting the target will ascede to requests for information or will agree to perform a single mission by making a check (d%; 01-25 means the target will agree). After round 2 of casting the target will ascede to requests for information or will agree to perform a single mission by making a check (d%; 01-50 means the target will agree). If a target does not agree, it will never answer the particular question (no matter how it is rephrased) or agree to that mission (or one similar). However, any failure to comply after round 1 of casting must be rechecked after round 2 of casting.
Limitations.
The target's true-name must be known to the caster. This is not the creature's public name but their secret original name.
The target must be an Outsider, have an Evil alignment, and have the extra-planar sub-type.
Any caster can only create one active Spiritwrack Scroll at a time. The ritual must be completed (consuming the scroll) or the scroll destroyed for the caster to create another.
If given a mission, the mission must be achievable by the target within, at maximum, one year (per the GM) or the magic will fail and the creature released from its obligation.
A caster cannot target themselves with this spell.
Material Components. The inks must be made from powdered rubies and Demon ichor from a Lesser or Greater demon. Special materials (treated vellum, special quills, gold leaf, etc.) must be used. If the caster is not a scribe or artist, trained to produce illuminations, they must train for at least three months to be able to create the scroll. Cost/Scarcity. Rubies, minimum cost: 5,000 g.p./Rare. Special materials: 1,000 g.p. Demon ichor (must be collected by the caster).
Known Additions/Substitutions. None.
