The cleric beseeches his or her deity for a hint of advice regarding an impending action.
Advice. The caster is given a binary indicator of "weal" or "woe" regarding a specified impending action. The impending action must be able to be executed within 30 minutes and the result must be clearly good or bad to for the one executing it. If the requirements cannot be met, the result will be "indeterminable".
Limitations
The spell has a base 70% (01-70) plus 1% per spell caster level chance of providing accurate (if directional) information. This base chance may be adjusted depending upon the subject, scarcity of information, and any wards (per the GM). An unsuccessful result means the response will be "indeterminable".
Material Components. The base components for the spell are a set of special tokens (gem-inlaid sticks or bones) or a gem or pearl. The gem or pearl must be worth at least 100 g.p. and must be consumed in a special infusion (the remains in the cup is then inspected). Tokens can be constructed by a jeweler in 1d4 weeks for 500 g.p. and will not be consumed in the casting of the spell. Additional sacrifices may be made which could adjust the base chance of success. Adjustment is dependent upon the worth of the sacrifice to the deity and the importance of the sacrifice to the caster and/or those who stand to benefit.
Known Substitutions. See material components.
