This spell is beneficial to a fallen (but not yet dead) ally.
The spell has two effects:
Stop Bleeding or Coma. Any creature under 0 hit points due to damage, but not yet dead, can be cured to 0 hit points immediately and the creature will avoid any coma or mandatory rest period due to damage. The spell does not affect scarring, other physical effects of the wounding, or conditions (other than the bleeding/hemorrhaging). The spell will also stop bleeding in any creature (as if curing magic was used, although if the creature was at 0 hit points or higher, no curing is done). If the creature was cured to 0 hit points or higher prior to death's door being cast but is still in a coma, the coma condition will be removed.
Stop Death from Poison. Any creature in a coma and dying (poisoned, deadly) from poison will be granted another saving throw against the poison. This includes poisons that would kill with damage on a failed save. Effects that occur with a successful save (or no save) cannot be avoided with this spell.
The spell is effective against both of the conditions above if possessed by the target (e.g. bleeding out and poisoned).
Material Components. A bit of white linen, and any form of unguent or salve. The component is consumed in the casting. Cost/Scarcity. 2 g.p./Uncommon.
Known Substitutions. None.
Performance Rating Notes. Evil clerics using the death's door spell on another living creature will gain a performance rating mark.
