The spell allows the caster move from one place to another instantaneously.
During the casting of the spell, the caster must indicate where the teleport spell will deposit the caster. This destination does not need to be exact, but must be mentally pictured by the caster.
The destination must be on the same plane as the caster when the spell was cast.
Anything carried by the caster will also be teleported subject to the weight limit.
One willing creature may be touched by the caster per limb (not otherwise occupied—holding something, standing, etc.). The "touch" must occur during the casting (or the round before).
Otherwise, any willing creatures touching the caster (as a major action) during the casting of the spell will be teleported, subject to a weight limit. These creatures must be within melee range and must declare they are touching the caster before the caster casts the spell. The caster can select any willing creature touching them as a target of the spell in addition to the caster. Unwilling creatures cannot be the target of the spell (see Limitations). The caster will know if an object or creature is over the weight limit and can leave it/them behind (this occurs during the casting of the spell).
An ally can touch the caster while the caster is casting the spell as a major action that must be declared. The act of touching the caster in this case will not disturb the caster's concentration.
Limitations
The spell does not normally allow exact transportation - only to an area and only to a solid surface in that area (if there are none, the spell fails). The success of the spell relies on probabilities based on the caster's familiarity of the destination. See Chance of Error.
The spell will not affect unwilling creatures (unless used as a special ability and the change is specified in the ability's description).
The weight limit of the spell is 250-lbs. plus 150-lbs. per caster level above 10th. This limit includes everything worn or carried or touched by the caster including any other (willing) living creature. Thus, if the caster is 9th or 10th level and their gear worn or carried exceeds 250-lbs., the spell will fail (no teleportation occurs).
If the Astral plane cannot be accessed by the caster, the spell fails. This means the spell cannot be cast while in an extra-dimension space (unless ruled otherwise by the GM) or if the caster is already on the Astral plane.
If a creature can teleport using a minor action as an innate or spell-like ability, once arriving at the destination, only primary attacks can be made (assuming an opponent is within melee range). Creatures with the ability to split attacks between primary or iterative will only be able to use the listed primary attack. Typically, even should a creature be able to teleport using a minor action (ignoring any chance of error), it would only be able to attack an opponent in sight before teleporting or pinpointed prior to the teleportation (in the same round).
Chance of Error
When arriving at a destination using teleport, there is a chance of arriving "high", "low" or "on target".
On Target means those teleporting will arrive on solid ground with no issue.
High indicates that those teleporting will arrive 10-ft. higher than the solid surface per 1% below the lowest On Target number.
Low indicates that those teleporting will arrive 10-ft. below the intended arrival destination. If this puts the teleporter(s) in a completely solid surface, the caster and any who travel with them will die immediately (no save). If the arrival area is not solid, the effect is per the GM.
If teleporting above a solid surface (High) and not into another solid surface (e.g. a ceiling), those teleporting may fall (if flight or similar effect is unavailable), taking damage.
Very Familiar. This is a place where you have been very often and where you feel at home.
Studied Carefully. This is a place you know well, either because you can currently physically see it (clearly) or you’ve been there often.
Seen Casually. This is a place that you have seen (physically) more than once, but with which you are not very familiar (passed through).
Viewed Once. This is a place that you have seen once (physically), or seen using magic such as a scrying effect.
Never Seen. This is a place you have a detailed description of or have seen detailed pictures of, but have otherwise never physically or magically seen.
You cannot teleport to an area you have not seen previously or have detailed information about (this includes having detailed information about a location that is false). ie. The spell fails (no teleportation occurs).
