Creatures and objects (not terrain or structures) in the area of effect shine with a pale, glowing light.
Each object or creature must be fully covered to affect another.
A 6-ft tall Man-sized humanoid with gear is equal to roughly 12 linear feet of area.
The caster can select creatures and/or objects to cover or exclude creatures, if they want the ability to cover invisible or otherwise unseen creatures or objects. For example, if the caster level is 4 and there are five creatures plus one invisible creature in the area (all Man-sized), the caster can exclude two of the visible creatures in the hopes that there is an invisible creature in the area of effect that might be limned. If there was not an invisible creature in the area, the caster has excluded the two visible ones (and cannot then change his or her mind!).
The light can be blue, green or violet as desired by the spell caster.
Any creature fully covered grants a +2 bonus to opponent's attack rolls targeting them.
The glow is easily discernible from 80 feet in conditions of low light or darkness and 40 feet if a bright light source is nearby or in daylight. See also Adventuring, Vision and Light.
