Save See description
The caster appears to be covered in plate mail of the desired design including a helm or great helm.
When the spell is cast the caster is covered in semi-real suit of plate mail. The armor is designed as the caster wishes and can include a helm of any appearance and type. The caster's vision is not affected by the illusory helm in any way, although opponents may not know this.
Any creature viewing the caster cast the spell (seeing the mail appear out of nothing) is granted an immediate Disbelief save vs Spell.
Otherwise, there is no save unless the creature interacts forcibly with the caster (successful attack) or declares and executes a Disbelief Activity.
Only one disbelief save is granted due to interaction (successful attack). If the save is failed, the only way to disbelieve the illusion is through a Disbelief Activity.
All standard adjustments to disbelief saves apply.
The illusory armor does not impact the caster's encumbrance or movement.
While the spell persists, any time the caster is struck for damage by a physical weapon of any time (not including energy damage), the armor will absorb 1 point of damage per strike. When the armor has absorbed 1 point of damage per caster level, it is discharged.
If attacked by a creature that has not made a successful disbelief save, the caster is considered to be wearing plate mail (base AC 3 and AD 3).
While the spell is in effect, the caster gains a +1 armor bonus to any applicable saves.
If attacked by a creature that has made a successful disbelief save, the caster gains no protection from the spell except for the damage resistance (1 point per strike) and saving throw bonus.
If the caster wears armor, the best base AC/AD will apply (protection does not stack).
The armor is considered magic armor (without bonuses) with regard to stacking with other magical protections.
Limitations
The armor cannot be removed in part or in whole. The entire spell must be discharged to remove the armor.
The armor makes noise as would a suit of real plate mail (whether it is disbelieved or not).
While the armor does not impact movement, the armor is partially there and, with regards to sleep, it acts as would a suit of non-magical chain mail.
While the armor does not impede the caster's ability to cast spells, the caster is considered to be wearing armor that may nullify other class abilities (thief class abilities, etc.).
