Save Above 5 hit dice save vs. Spell (save negates) or None
The caster creates a cone of clashing, swirling colors.
The spell caster creates a wedge-shaped plane of discordant colors springing from their open hand that affects 1d6 creatures in the area.
Only creatures above 5 HD are allowed a saving throw.
Effects are as follows:
Creature affected has hit dice that are equal to or less than the caster level = unconscious (2d4 rounds)
Creature affected has hit dice that are 1 to 2 greater than the caster level = blinded (1d4 rounds) and stunned (1 round)
Creature affected has hit dice that are 3+ greater than the caster level = stunned (1 round)
Area of Effect
The wedge is 20-ft. wide at the end and 20-ft. long. It's vertex is 5-ft. wide at the spell caster's hand. The plane is shifting, approximately 2-ft. to 3-ft thick.
Limitations
If there are more than the number of affected creatures in the area, those affected will be selected randomly.
If cast in an area with very tall creatures and very small creatures, the caster must choose which group to affect (the area is a flat-ish plane). Typically, the larger creatures must be double the height of the smaller (and have ocular organs toward the top of their height). e.g. A hill giant can be targeted separately from humans in melee with it. However, a manticore cannot.
A caster much smaller than the target must target the creature's head. This may limit the number of creatures that can be affected.
Creatures without sight organs or the ability to see color are not affected. Creatures immune to confusion effects are not affected.
Material Components. Three pinches of sand or powder. Each pinch must be a different vibrant color. The components are consumed in the casting of the spell. Cost/Scarcity. 1 s.p./common.
Known Additions/Substitutions. None.
