The caster casts the spell and designates the target. The water targeted can be in a container or part of a larger whole.
One cubic foot of water contains 7.48052 gallons. One gallon of water weighs 8.3453 pounds. One cubic foot of water weighs 62.42718356 pounds.
Only liquids described as "water" will be purified. "Purified" means the water is made safe for humanoids to consume (without any trace additives that alter the taste or scent). This includes desalination of salt water.
The spell will turn holy water or unholy water in the area of effect into normal (pure) water.
Limitations
This spell cannot affect liquids not primarily water (per the GM; eg. beer, wine, spirits, mead, vinegar, etc. but not most soups).

The affected water is contaminated and will cause physical distress if consumed.
The caster casts the spell and designates the target. The water targeted can be in a container or part of a larger whole.
If consumed by a living creature, the consumer must make a save vs. Poison (save avoids). A save must be made for each round of consumption. If a save is failed, after an onset time of 3d4 rounds, the creature becomes nauseated for 3d4 rounds.
Any creatures that miss a saving throw have a 5% (d%; 01-05) chance of contracting a gastrointestinal disease.
Contaminated water mixed with otherwise non-contaminated water will adjust saving throws and/or effects (per the GM) depending on the percentage of water affected (the ratio of the mix).
Contaminated water is not magical and has no added tastes, appearance, or scent.
Limitations are otherwise as per purify water.
