The spell gives the caster the ability to see illusion/phantasms as they actually are in the area of effect.
When cast, the caster will point the area of effect in one direction, based on their facing and the effect will not move until they use an action to move it.
The caster automatically disbelieves (no save necessary) all phantasm, spectral, seeming, or hallucinatory effects in the area of effect.
The caster can also see through all seeming effects that do not grant disbelief saves (e.g. invisibility, as per the detect invisibility spell). The caster can choose to give up concentration and use the effect as per the detect invisibility spell.
Anything that obstructs the caster's line of sight will obstruct their ability to see through the effects noted above.
Even after the spell is discharged or ends, any illusion viewed in the area of effect is considered to be disbelieved.
Extending the Effect to Another. If the caster touches another creature, and that creature concentrates as a major action, the creature is granted the effect as per the caster (the caster must maintain concentration and the effect continues for the caster as well). Only one other creature can be so enabled per round. After the first round of noting the illusion effects, the recipient is considered to have disbelieved all effects covered by this spell even after the caster ends contact.
Detect Illusion. [innate] (minor or concentration) If the caster maintains concentration on the spell, the area of effect will move with the caster. Otherwise, it is immobile. Each round, on their turn during group initiative, the caster can relocate the area of effect as an innate ability, based on their facing.
Material Components. A piece of crystal, glass, or mica, tinted yellow. The components are consumed in the casting of the spell. Cost/Scarcity. 4 s.p./Uncommon.
Known Substitutions. None.
