The recipient becomes invisible until they attack.
Invisible creatures cannot be detected by non-magical sight, night vision, infravision of any sort, or ultravision.
Invisibility includes all carried or worn gear at the time the creature became invisible.
The recipient gains combat bonuses due to invisibility. See Invisibility.
Items dropped become visible. Items picked up after the spell is cast do not unless they can be placed in an invisible container (pouch, bag, pocket, pack, etc.).
Light of any kind or magical darkness radiate normally and is unaffected by invisibility.
Limitations
If the recipient makes any attack action (based on intent; per the GM), the spell is negated (after the action is taken).
Any creatures (or any sort) carried by the recipient do not become invisible unless it is a familiar of the recipient (see the find familiar spell).
Creatures able to see invisible see the recipient normally. Creatures able to sense invisible can detect the location of the recipient but the recipient still gains combat bonuses due to invisibility. See Invisibility.
Invisible creature make noise and produce odors normally.
Written magic items (e.g. magic scrolls) cannot be used while they are invisible unless the recipient can see invisible.
Examples of Attack Actions or Non-attack Actions
Using an ability or spell that negatively affects a targeted opponent is considered an attack action. Thus, a prayer spell cast with opponents in the area of effect is an attack action whereas, if no opponents were in the area of effect, it would not.
Spells that summon, call or conjure allies are not considered attack actions (even if those allies attack immediately).
Illusions (phantasm illusions or spectral illusions) that do not simulate a direct attack (e.g. a fireball spell) are not considered attack actions, even if they create illusory allies that attack.
Targeting an object or area (terrain) may be considered an attack action. For example, throwing a flask of oil against an object or the ground is considered an attack action. However, pouring oil from a flask in an area is not.
Charms, fascination effects, suggestions, or the like are all considered attack actions.
Detection abilities, including ESP are not considered attack actions.
Dispel magic is considered an attack action. A sanctuary spell is not considered an attack action.
The "speak with..." spells are not considered attack actions (even if the effect causes a creature not to attack).
The "wall of..." spells are not considered attack actions unless the wall is being used to cause immediate harm: a falling wall of ice or wall of iron; a wall of fire placed near opponents.
