This spell speeds up the recipient's movement and attacks.
Recipients gain the following benefits:
Go First in Initiative.
Multi-attack (+1) with manufactured or improvised weapons. If the recipient already has multi-attack, this will stack with the existing ability. Thus, a fighter with multi-attack +1/2 will gain multi-attack +1.5. ie. A primary attack routine (Go First), followed by two iterative attacks in the first round (the first striking on HIGH initiative, and the second striking toward the end of the round) and one iterative attack in the even round (striking toward the end of the round).
Increases most missile weapon's fire rate by +1 when used by the recipient. Loading weapons may be loaded and fired during the Go First phase but cannot fire more than once per round (even heavy crossbows can be loaded and fired during the Go First phase). Entangling or enveloping weapons can only be used once per round (but will be used during the Go First phase).
Attacks using natural weapons are doubled (and each routine treated as would a multi-attack). eg. A creature that attacks using claw/claw/bite would attack first in the round (Go First) with three attacks and then during the iterative phase (toward the end of the round) with another three attacks.
Doubles current movement rate.
Removes the delayed condition.
If the recipient of a haste effect is magically slowed, both effects cancel each other with regard to the recipient. Likewise, a slow effect will cancel a haste effect with regard to the recipient.
Other Effects
Any recipient of this spell will age by 1 year (unless the haste effect is canceled due to immediately cancelling a slow effect).
Limitations
Haste effects will not stack (if durations overlap, the effect lasts as long as the longest running duration).
Although a spell caster/magic item wielder may "go first", their spells and/or invocations are still tied to the group initiative die. ie. the casting time is not any faster due to the spell. See the Spell Initiative Chart.
Material Components. A shaving of licorice root which is consumed in the casting. Cost/Scarcity. 1 c.p./Common.
Known Substitutions. None.
