The caster is surrounded by a mobile ward that hedges plants.
The ward is centered on the caster, is invisible, and moves with the caster. The ward is a 10-ft. radius sphere.
Creatures with the plant type or sub-type cannot enter the area of effect.
All within the area cannot be contacted by any touch, contact attack, or natural weapon possessed by a creature with the plant type or sub-type.
Plants that are not creatures become inert when in the area of effect. This extends to any plant-based effects such as spores, pollen, scents, etc.
Missile weapons made of living vegetable matter are deflected by the ward. Examples are needles, fruit globes, vines, etc. Anything recently (per the GM) attached to a living plant. Manufactured wooden weapons are not considered living in this case.
The caster can move up to 30-ft. per round through an area populated by plant creatures and these will be shunted aside. This movement will not grant free attacks. If there is not space available for a plant creature to be moved, treat this as forcing physical contact (as per below).
Otherwise, if the caster uses a natural attack, grab/grapple, melee attack without reach, or forces physical contact with a warded plant creature, the spell will not fail but the hedging ward will cease functioning with regards to the creature attacked for the duration of the spell (if the ward is granted as a continuous special ability, it will resume automatically in 1d4 rounds once the attacked creature is no longer in the area of effect). The caster will know just before the attack that the creature is a plant and can stop their action (causing a delay or if losing initiative, losing their turn during the round).
An active magic resistance check can be used to shatter (dispel) the spell as a major action (if the ward is granted as a continuous special ability, it will resume automatically in 1d4 rounds). However, the ward is unaffected by passive magic resistance.

Known Substitutions. Standard effects for the use of mistletoe substitutions.
