The caster chants a blessing that bolsters allies and weakens enemies.
After the spell is cast, the caster can choose to maintain the spell in one of two ways:
The caster maintains continuous concentration. The spell will last as long as the caster concentrates.
The caster ceases concentration, but continues to chant as a simple activity over a duration of up to 2 rounds per caster level. Although the act of chanting is a simple activity, the verbal intonations must be continuous over the entire duration of the spell. A spell caster can choose to maintain the spell using the first method and then switch to the second method at any time (but not the other way around; once concentration is given up, the spell's duration is set).
All allies that can hear the chant in the area of effect gain the following benefits:
A +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls (a maximum of +1 damage per attack).
A +1 bonus to all saving throws.
All enemies (as perceived by the caster) in the area of effect suffer the following penalties:
A -1 penalty to attack and damage rolls (a maximum of -1 damage per attack). This penalty is usually expressed by adjusting the target's AC.
A -1 penalty to all saving throws.
Any creature leaving the area of effect immediately loses any adjustment due to the spell. Creatures entering the area of effect are affected immediately.
Limitations
If a caster is maintaining the spell using concentration, any involuntary loss of concentration means the spell is immediately discharged/done.
A chanting caster cannot use any verbal actions: speaking, casting spells with a verbal component, pronouncing command words, etc. A chanting caster cannot consume anything through their mouth.
If the chanting stops for any reason, the spell is immediately discharged/done.
Multiple chant spells will not stack.
Attacks must originate from within the area of effect to gain adjustments.
