The spell caster can cause a creature or objects to slow movement in free fall or (if an object) in flight—to the speed of a floating feather.
This spell has two uses.
Falling Creatures or Objects. All creatures or objects in the area of effect, up to the weight limit, that are falling will slow their rate of descent to 12-ft. per segment.
Missile Weapons. All missile weapons or propelled ammunition in the area of effect, up to the weight limit, that are in flight (during the segment the spell is cast) will stop their flight and float harmlessly to the ground (falling 12-ft. per segment). The caster can time the effect to the segment, so if there are multiple creatures wielding missile weapons at the same time, all attacks in the area of effect will be rendered harmless. Missile weapons with a fire rate over 1/1 are assumed to be fired in the same segment (and all ammunition fired will be affected, up to the weight limit).
Limitations. This spell is cast as an innate ability (as an immediate action). Only one magical innate ability or spell (incantation or invocation) can be used per round. Thus, if a magical ability were used previously in the round, this spell cannot be used. If this spell were used previous to other actions, no magical abilities can be used afterward in the same round. The spell has no effect on creatures or objects not falling or being thrown/propelled.
Material Components. A small feather or piece of down. The component does not need to be accessed, simply possessed and it is consumed by the casting. Cost/Scarcity. None/Common.
