The spell caster can shape an area made of stone or an object made of stone as desired.
The actual area or object to be shaped must be touched (while forming the clay into the desired form, see Material Components, below).
Detail can be good but not exceedingly fine. Thus, a portal with hinges can be made but not a lock with tumblers or clockwork gears. Stone can be separated from other materials as desired.
Examples
Often this spell is used to bypass, create, or bar portals using the portal itself (if a stone door), or the surrounding stone. Detail ability is fine enough to create secret portals, working pit trap covers (that will remain open), or stone containers (e.g. a coffer). Stone copies of items can be made.
Because the form takes shape while the caster is working the clay, it is impossible to trap mobile creatures using stone bonds (the process is too slow). Stone bars may be created although the material could be brittle (subject to bludgeoning attack). Objects, liquid, or immobile creatures can be contained within stone (a rough sphere, or partially covered, or bound).
Material Components. Magic-user. A bit of soft clay that, during casting, is shaped into the desired form. Druid. As per magic-user, as well as mistletoe. The component is consumed in the casting of the spell. Cost/Scarcity. Free/Common.
Known Substitutions. Fresh clay from an earth elemental will double the area of effect. Standard effects for the use of mistletoe substitutions.
