Enchantment/Charm [language-dependent, mind-affecting, sight, sonic]
Level Illusionist 1
Components V, S (M)
Casting Time 1 segment
Range 0
Area of Effect 30-ft. radius
Duration 1 round (plus 1 round per caster level if affected by suggestion)
Save Wisdom vs. Spell (save negates)
This spell will cause creatures affected to become fascinated and open to the caster's suggestion.
The spell caster will select up to six creatures in the area of effect to target with the hypnotism spell.
All creatures targeted must be able to clearly see and hear the spell caster.
During the casting of the spell, the spell caster speaks and makes rhythmic hand gestures.
Each creature targeted must make a Wisdom save vs. Spell or become fascinated for 1 round (save negates).
In the subsequent round, the caster can perform a simple activity to deliver a suggestion targeting all of the fascinated creatures in the area of effect. Otherwise, the caster perform a complex activity to deliver up to six individual suggestions.
Targets of the suggestion effect must make another Wisdom save vs. Spell or be affected as per the suggestion spell for a duration of 1 round per caster level (save negates all hypnotism spell effects on that creature). The suggestion effect is considered non-magical.
Once the duration of the fascination effect ends, any creatures that failed their save vs. suggestion will begin to act to complete the suggestion.
Other than the casting of spell, concentration on the part of the spell caster is not required to maintain the spell or to deliver suggestions.
Limitations
Creatures engaged in melee when the spell is cast are immune to fascination.
Any creature that takes damage while fascinated will be immediately released from the spell.
Material Components. A single-class illusionist can optionally use their bonded amulet as a material component to help power the spell. The caster sets the amulet spinning and if the target can see it, they suffer a -2 penalty to the spell's saving throw. The amulet is not consumed in the casting of the spell.
