This spell makes a surface transparent for the duration.
The caster casts the spell and touches a metal, stone, or wood surface.
The area touched becomes transparent (although, see below), as if made of glass, in a 3-ft. wide by 2-ft. high "window". The depth of the transparency depends on the material (use the most prevalent material type if mixed):
Metal. Transparency extends to a depth of 4 inches.
Stone. Transparency extends to a depth of 6 feet.
Wood. Transparency extends to a depth of 20 feet.
When cast the caster must specify whether the transparency is visible to all creatures or is limited to just the caster (ie. the window cannot be seen by others). If allowing others to see through it, the caster must specify whether the transparency is one-way (creatures on one side cannot see it) or two-way.
The strength of the material does not change while under the effect of the spell.
Limitations
This spell cannot affect surfaces made of or including gold, lead, or platinum.
Material Components. A small chip of crystal or glass. The component is consumed in the casting of the spell. Cost/Scarcity. Free/Common.
Known Substitutions. None.
