This spell causes normal plants in the area to grow wildly, forming a barrier.
When cast, all normal plants in the area will grow and intertwine—weaving into a hardy barrier. Creatures must hack their way through at 10-ft. per round (each man-sized creature can hack out a 5-ft. path per 5 segments of hacking with a chopping weapon; slashing weapons take double the time). A Large-sized creature can hack through 20-ft. per round (doubling the area specified for smaller creatures) and, if strong, can push through the vegetation at 20-ft. per round.
The spell is permanent until dispelled or the vegetation is destroyed/cleared.
Limitations
Only normal (mundane, non-creature) vegetation will be affected.
In order for a barrier to form, plants must consist of woody elements such as brush, thickets, trees, and/or vines. An area with only grasses or weeds won't form an effective barrier but may hamper movement as per difficult terrain, per the GM. While fungus can be affected by the spell, it won't necessarily create an effective barrier unless circumstances permit, per the GM. Circumstances may permit if cast in an "fungal forest" area of with a noted large amount of fungus, although this type of barrier may possibly be easily climbed.
If used to generate crops or food, quadrupling the amount of food in the area is a good rule of thumb. This also includes areas containing mistletoe.
Material Components. (Druid Version) Mistletoe.
Known Substitutions. Standard effects for the use of mistletoe substitutions.
