U16 1982-2001, U17 2002-present. Germany incl. BRD. Yugoslavia incl. Serbia & Montenegro incl. 1987: I have counted this tournament even though UEFA stripped Italy of the official title, in my opinion for a rather trivial reason. Italy had inscribed a player with an irregular document! 1988: The game DDR vs. Sweden is here counted as a draw even though DDR won on penalties. I have counted the penalty shootout as a group decider and not as a match decider. 1989: The game DDR vs. Soviet Union is here counted as a draw even though DDR won on penalties. I have counted the penalty shootout as a group decider and not as a match decider. 1989: The game Belarus vs. Austria is here counted as a draw even though Belarus won on penalties. I have counted the penalty shootout as a group decider and not as a match decider. 2010: Liechtenstein were hosts of the final tournament 2010 but did not participate after considering themselves being too bad! 2020: The qualifying wasn't concluded and no final tournament was held due to Covid-19. 2021: The tournament was cancelled altogether. 2022: Azerbaijan withdrew. As a consequence they had all their games set to 0-3 against them. 2022: Russia was banned from the Elite Round because of the invasion of Ukraine.
