Iran's first nationwide league was played in 1973/74 (see notes). You are free to copy this document in non-commercial circumstances, but please state the source, i.e. Clas Glenning. This table was completely overhauled, corrected and expanded in May 2020.

The table includes the Takhte Jamshid league 1973/74-77/78, Qods league 1989/90, the Azadegan league 1991/92-2000/01 and Iran Premier league (or Persian Culf Pro League) 2001/02 to present. 1978/79: League not finished due to the Islamic Revolution. 1979-85: No league championship played at all. 1985/86-88/89: Only league based on regional teams in operation. Saba Qom prev. Saba Battery. Damash prev. Pegah. Esteghlal (Tehran) prev. Taj. Foolad prev. Jonoob.
