Discontinued cups: President's Cup 2005-14, Cupwinnerscup 1991-2002, Super Cup 1995-2002.

Tournament notes

Please note that teams that have withdrew on their own accord are not mentioned here.

Champions Cup


1968: Tournament cancelled.                                                                                                                                                   1973-84: No tournament played.                                                                                                   

1985/86: No result have been found from the qualifying game between Al-Ittihad  (Aleppo) & Al-Rasheed. The former won though.  

 1985/86: The group  games involving Al-Ahli (Jeddah), Al-Arabi (KUW), Al-Fanja,           Muharraq,  Al-Rayyan & Al-Ain are not known but the season is counted for all   teams as they in fact  took part.

1986/87: The group  games involving Al-Hilal, Al-Arabi (Kuwait), Al-Arabi (QAT),    Al-Wasl (UAE), Dhofar,  are not known but the season is counted for all teams as   they in fact took part.

1986/87: In the group 4 qualifying group only results involving Malavan SC are           known.          1986/87: No results  are known from the qualifying group involving Tiga Berlian,   Air Force &  Daerah Brunei. The first mentioned won the group though and the   season is counted for  all teams.

1988/89 &  1989/90: Al-Fanja played both in the qualifying group 2 (also  contested as the Gulf  Cooperation Council Club Tournament) & 3! But they played     only in the GCCCT not  in the qualifying for the Asian Champions Cup in the first     of the groups  mentioned. The games they played are however counted for all other     qualifying teams so I  have counted them here for Al-Fanja as well.

 1990/91: The game April 25 - Bangkok Bank either ended 4-3 or 1-0. I have used  the first mentioned result.                                                                                                 

 1990/91: The game Esteghlal - Mohammedan SC either ended 1-1 or 0-0. I have used           the first mentioned result.                                                                                                  

1992/93: There are some games missing from the preliminary rounds.                                                         1994/95: All results involving Kota Rangers (which won the group) and   representatives from Macao & Philippines are missing.                                                                                               

1995/96: The game Al-Salmiya - Saipa either ended 2-1 or 1-2. I have used the  former.                  1996/97: The game New Road Team - JCT Mills ended either 1-1 or 2-2. I have used the former.                                                                                                  

 2000/01: The game Al-Ahly (YEM) - Al-Ahly (BAH) ended either 0-1 or 1-2. I have  used the first mentioned result.                                                                                                  


Cupwinners Cup


1994/95: The result for the game Ratnam SC - Club Lagoons is missing.

1996/97: The game Electricity of Laos - Mohammedan SC either ended 1-4  or 1-0. I  have used the former.                                                                                                                                                                               1996/97: The game Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i - Mohammedan SC either ended  5-0 or   5-1. I have used the former.

APDB = Angkata Persenjatat Diraja Brunei (Royal Armed Forces Brunei).

Dalian Shide previously Dalian Wanda.

August 1st = Chinese army team, also called  Ba Yi.

PSM Ujungpandang sometimes written as PS Makassar.

Tige Berlian (Palembang) were called Yanita Utama for a brief period.  Sometimes written as being from Jakarta.

Esteghlal SC (Tehran) previously Taj Club.

Piroozi (Tehran) previously Perspolis.

Foolad (Ahvaz) previously Jonob (Ahvaz)

Al-Rasheed (Baghdad) now Al-Karkh.

Jubilo Iwata previously Yamaha Motors.

Yokohama Marinos previously Nissan FC (Yokohama). The  current club Yokohama F. Marinos is a  merger of Yokohama Marinos and Yokohama Flügels done  in 1999.

Tokyo Verdy 1969 previously Yomiuri & Verdy  Kawasaki.

East Furukawa (Yokohama) now JEF United Ichihara.

Toyo Kogyo (Hiroshima) now Sanfrecce Hiroshima.  Shabab Al-Ordon Al-Qadisiya a.k.a. Jordan Youth Club.

Irtysh Pavlodar previously Ansat Pavlodar.

Kaysar Hurricane Qyzyl-Orda previously Kaizar Qyzyl-Orda.

SKA-PVO Bishkek previously Alga Bishkek.

Dordoi Bishkek previously Dordoi-Dinamo Naryn.

Selangor FA (Kelena Jaya) now Selangor MPPJ.

Cong an (Ho Chi Minh City) = Police team  of Ho Chi Minh City. Now called Ngan hang Dong A.
