 HAPHAPOEL KIRYAT ATA – Town of Kiryat Ata was also known as Kfar Ata HAPOEL BALFOURIA – Merged with Hapoel Afula in 1956. That merger continued as Hapoel Afula. Club was never recreated. HAPOEL HADERA – In 2006 all Hadera clubs including Hapoel Hadera merged Into Hapoel Ironi Eran Hadera. However, that „merger“ soon become Hapoel Hadera again. Swallowed FC Giv'at Olga in 2015. MACCABI ZIKHRON YA'AKOV – Merged with Hapoel Zikhron Ya'akov into Ironi Zikhron Ya'akov in 1995 and was never recreated again. SPORT CLUB ATLIT – Later in lower divisions known as Hapoel Atlit. HAPOEL ZIKHRON YA'AKOV – Merged with Maccabi Zikhron Ya'akov into Ironi Zikhron Ya'akov in 1995 and was never recreated again. MACCABI RAMAT GAN – Merged with Hakoah Tel Aviv to form Maccabi Hakoah Ramat Gan in 1958. This merger was dissolved in 1968 and club was never recreated. HAPOEL RA'ANANA – Club was dissolved and then recreated in 1972. SHIMSHON TEL AVIV – Merged with Beitar Tel Aviv into Beitar-Shimshon Tel Aviv in 2000. When that merger broke in 2011 Shimshon was dissolved. Recreated in 2014 but never reached second level since. HAPOEL HOLON – Merged with Zafririm Holon into Hapoel Zafririm Holon in 1985 and was dissolved. Club was recreated in 2016, but there is dispute if merger of Hapoel Zafririm Holon and FC Yaniv Holon that was named Hapoel Holon is the same club or not. HAKOAH TEL AVIV – Merged with Maccabi Ramat Gan to form Maccabi Hakoah Ramat Gan. That merger was dissolved in 1968 and club was never recreated. MACCABI HADERA – Merged into Hapoel Ironi Eran Hadera in 2006 and never recreated. MACCABI NES TZIONA – Merged into SK Nes Tziona in 1955 and never recreated. HABIRA JERUSALEM – Also known as YMCA Jerusalem. BEITAR NETANYA – Today known as Beitar Nes Tobruk. BEITAR TEL AVIV – Merged with Shimshon Tel Aviv into Beitar Shimshon in 2000. When that merger broke Beitar merged with Ironi Ramla in 2011. In 2019 that merger also broke and Beitar merged with Maccabi Ironi Bat Yam.  HAPOEL NAHLIEL – Merged with Hapoel Givat Olga in 1998 and never recreated. MACCABI RAMAT AMIDAR – Merged with Hakoah Ramat gan into Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan in 2005 and never recreated. SEKTZIA NES TZIONA – Also known as SK Nes Tziona. BEITAR RAMLA – Dissolved in 1999, then recreated but only to be merged with Beitar Shimshon Tel Aviv into Beitar Tel Aviv / Ramla in 2011 and is still part oft his merger as of 2020. MACCABI HOLON – Club was dissovled in 1980, then recreated but only to be swallowed by Maccabi Ironi Bat Yam. HAPOEL KIRYAT SHMONA – Merged woth Maccabi Kiryat Shmona into Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona, a merger that still exists.  BEITAR AVRAHAM BEER SHEVA – Also known as Beitar. HAPOEL  ASHDOD – Merged with Ironi Ashdod into FC Ashdod in  1999. Later recreated. BEITAR ASHDOD – Merged with Maccabi Ashdod into Maccabi Ironi Ashdod in 1981. Later recreated. HAPOEL BEIT SHE'AN – Swallowed by Maccabi Beit She'an in 2010. Later recreated. HAPOEL NOF HA GALIL – City of Nof Ha Galil was also known as Nazareth Illit HAPOEL RAMAT HASHARON (OLD CLUB) – Merged with Maccabi Nir Ramat Hasharon into Hapoel Ironi Nir Ramat Hasharon, later renamed Hapoel Nir Ramat Hasharon. That merger still exists today. IRONI ASHDOD – Merged with Hapoel Ashdod in 1999 into FC Ashdod. That merger still exists. MACCABI IRONI KIRYAT ATA – Club was originally Maccabi and from city Acre. In 1999 club was relocated to city Kiryat Ata and renamed Maccabi Ironi. IRONI RISHON LEZION – There is dispute is that a „different“ club or just Hapoel Rishon Lezion renamed Ironi Rishon Lezion between 1993 and 2007. I took first stance… HAPOEL RAMAT HASHARON (NEW CLUB) – Merger of Hapoel (old club) and Maccabi Nir. Later renamed Hapoel Nir, today known as Hapoel. Not to be confused with „old“ Hapoel Ramat Hasharon. BEITAR SHIMSHON TEL AVIV – Merger of Beitar and Shimshon Tel Aviv. In 2011 Shimshon withdrew form this merger and Beitar merged with Ironi Ramla into Beitar Tel Aviv / Ramla. BEITAR TEL AVIV/ RAMLA – Merger between Beitar Shimshon Tel Aviv (Shimshon later withdrew from merger) and Ironi Ramla. Represents both cities of Tel Aviv and Ramla.   Seasons and tables: Liga is not officialy named 1949/50 – five divisions, no promotion. 1950/51 – not played 1951/52 – two divisions, North division table incorrect – two more losses, +3 goal difference, South division table incorrect, -4 goal difference. 1952/53 – not played 1953/54 – two divisions, south division table incorrect – three more losses. 1954/55 – two divisions, south division table incorrect – goal difference +11 Liga Alef 1955/56 – one division 1956/57 – one division, goal difference +1 1957/58 – one division, one more win, goal difference -10 1958/59 – one division, seven more losses, odd number of draws , goal difference -5 1959/60 – one division, goal difference -8 1960/61 – one division 1961/62 – one division, nine more losses , goal difference -1 1962/63 – one division, goal difference +3 1963/64 –two divisions, south division two more losses 1964/65 – two divisions, north division goal difference -10  1965/66 – two divisions, south division two more losses 1966/68 – this season lasts for two years. Two divisions, Nort division five more losses than wins, south division three more losses. 1968/69 two divisions. North division one more win, odd number of draws , goal difference +2, south division four more losses, goal difference -10 1969/70 two divisions. North division one more loss, goal difference +9, south division one more loss 1970/71 two division. South division goal difference -3 1972/72 two divisions. North division goal difference +2, south division four more losses, goal difference +3 1972/73 two divisions. South division goal difference +11 1973/74 two divisions 1974/75 two division, north division one more loss, south division four more losses 1975/76 two divisions. North division two more losses. League was renamed to Liga Artzit 1976/77-1986/87 – one division. Tables correct. 1987/88 – one division. After 26 matches first eight clubs played seven more matches for promotion while clubs from ninth to fourteenth played five more matches to  avoid relegation. 1988/89 – promotion/relegation system but it's clubs from first to sixth after 26 matches to play for promotion and rest for avoiding relegation. 1989/90 – one division 1990/91 – one division. Goal difference is -5 1991/92 – 1998/99 one division League was renamed to league Leumit 1998/99 – 2008/09 - one division 2009/10 –  2011/12 one division. After 30 matches top six teams enter promotion playoff, seventh to tenth play middle playoff while the rest play to avoid relegation. 2012/13 – today: One division. After 30 matches top eight teams play promotion playoff and the rest to avoid relegation
