The table has been assembled using material mainly contributed by Timo Bootsma, Martijn Mooij, Allard Doesburg and Wikipedia. Additional information submitted by the foot.dk website and Fer van Dijk. Useful comments also by Thomas Giesecke. A huge thank you to all who have contributed. You are free to copy this document in a non-commercial capacity but please state the source, i.e. Clas Glenning. THE TABLE WAS COMPLETELY OVERHAULED AND AMENDED IN OCTOBER 2016. 2019/20-Season is counted even though no champion was declared and no teams were relegated because teams were selected to play in the European cups based on the standings of the table.

Notes

Note that all playoffs to decide ranking when teams were level on points are counted as well the various European playoffs. 2010/11: NAC had one point deducted. 2014/15: Twente had six points deducted for financial irregularities. 2015/16: Twente had three points deducted for breach of financial standards. 2019/20: The season was halted in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. No team was declared champion and no relegation occurred. 2023/24: Vitesse had 18 points deducted.

Namechanges & amalgamations

Fortuna SC Sittard = Merger of Fortuna'54 and Sittardia. FC Twente = Merger of SC Enschede and Enschedese Boys. FC Den Haag = Merger of ADO Den Haag (old) and Holland Sport. Later dissolved. Please note that  the old ADO Den Haag and the new (in my table created when the merger was  dissolved) are counted as one and the same. BUT, FC Den Haag is a different team. FC Utrecht = Merger of DOS, Elinkwijk and Velox. FC Amsterdam = Merger of DWS and Blauw Wit and (later on) De Volewijckers. SVV/Dordrecht'90 = Merger of SVV and Dordrecht'90. Later dissolved. The four games they played 1992/93 are counted on FC Dordrecht (then Dordrecht'90) as they finished the season as Dordrecht'90. FC Dordrecht = Previously DS'79 & Dordrecht'90, respectively. AZ = Previously AZ'67. Merger of Alkmaar'54 and FC Zaanstreek. DWS/A = Merger of DWS and BVC (Amsterdam). Later dissolved. PEC Zwolle = Previously FC Zwolle. Go Ahead Eagles = Previously Go Ahead. Roda JC = Merger of Rapid JC and Roda Sport. Feyenoord = Previously Feijenoord.
