FINLAND 2nd level alltimetable 1936 - 2023

A regular 2nd level was first formed for the 1936-season in Finland. The facts for the table have been gathered by Clas Glenning from RSSSF and Soccerway. The table is counted with 3 points for a win. Namechanges are clarified at the end of this document, see especially the notes concerning Klubi-04 Helsinki. You are free to copy this document in non-commercial circumstances but please state the source, i.e. Clas Glenning. The table was completely overhauled and corrected in April 2020.

* = Previously from Helsinki (PK-35 Helsinki (new club)).  1940/41: The league was abandoned with three games to go. The standings at that point were declared final. Because of the war some clubs were not able to participate at all.  1941/42 & 1942/43: Not played because of WW2.  1943/44: The league was abandoned with 2 games to go. Their matches were declared null and void.  1992: A replay to decide a playoff spot (as the two contenders ended on equal points) between FinnPa Helsinki and JoKu Juotseno (3-1) is counted in the table.  1994: FC Oulu withdrew before the season started. Gnistan Helsinki took their place.  1998: Replay for 3rd place in the promotion group: TPV Tampere vs. Ilves Tampere, 4-1, is counted in the table.  1999: Promotion replay: United Tampere vs. Atlantis Helsinki, 2-0, is counted in the table.  2001: KTP Kotka withdrew before the season started from the Southern group. AC Vantaa took their place.  2001: HIFK Helsinki withdrew before the season started. Korsholm Mustasaari took their place.  2004: Jokerit Helsinki withdrew from 1st level to 3rd. FC KooTeePee Kotka took their place. GBK Kokkola took the latters place in the 2nd level.

Namechanges and mergers 

FF Jaro Pietarsaari previously called Drott Pietarsaari.  KPV Kokkola previously called PV Kokkola & KPV-J Kokkola, respectively.  Koparit Kuopio previously called KPT Kuopio.  Kuusysi Lahti previously called LaPM Lahti & UponP Lahti, respectively.  FC Hämeenlinna previously called  K-Team Hämeenlinna. It is a meger of HPK Hämeenlinna and Pallo-Kärpät.   Sepsi-78 Seinäjoki previously called SePS Seinäjoki.  Sudet Kuovola previously called Sudet Viipuri & Sudet Helsinki, respectively. Moved from Viipuri to Helsinki when Viipuri was annexed by the USSR.    IKissat Tampere previously called Ilves Viipuri. Moved from Viipuri to Helsinki when Viipuri was annexed by the USSR.  Reipas Lahti previously called Reipas Viipuri. Moved from Viipuri to Helsinki when Viipuri was annexed by the USSR.  Jokrut Helsinki previously called FinnPa Helsinki.  Kiffen Helsinki previously called KIF (Kronohagens IF) Helsinki.  Jazz Pori previously called PPT Pori.  TP Seinäjoki previously called TP-55 Seinäjoki.  SJK Seinäjoki = merger of Sepsi-78 and TP Seinäjoki.  Ilves Tampere = merger between IKissat Tampere & TaPa Tampere.  AC Kajaani = merger of FC Tarmo and KaPa Kajaani.  FC KTP = merger of KooTeePee and KTP Kotka.  Ilves Tampere = merger between IKissat Tampere & TaPa Tampere.   Kultsu Juotseno previously called JoKu Juotseno.  Rakuunat Lappeenranta = merger between LaPa Lappeenranta & LauTP Lappeenranta.  P-Iirot Rauma = merger of Iirot Rauma and Lukko Rauma. Prev. Hakrit Rauma.  Klubi-04 Helsinki previously Jokerit Helsinki, PK-35 Helsinki (old club) & ViPK Viipuri. Moved from Viipuri to Helsinki when Viipuri was annexed by the USSR.  Later on PK-35 restarted (in the table written as PK-35 Vantaa after a move from Helsinki to Vantaa)).  Herttua Helsinki previously called HerU Helsinki.  FC Kuusanskoski = merger between PaPe Kuusanskoski & Kumu Kuusanskoski.  JyP-77 Jyväskylä previously called JyP Jyväskylä.  OLS Oulu previously called 1991 Oulu. Actually this was at a time some sort of  2nd team of the merger between OLS Oulu and OTP Oulu. The first team of this  merger was FC Oulu. The merger was later dissolved.  FC Mikkeli = merger between MP Mikkeli & MiKi Mikkeli. This merger was later  dissolved.  FC Lahti = merger between Kuusysi Lahti & Reipas Lahti.  KPT-85 Kemi = merger between Into Kemi & Tenho Kemi.  PeKa Kotka previously called KyPa Kotka.  Kumu Kuusanskoski previously called KumuP Kuusanskoski.  JJK Jyväskylä = merger between JyP-77 Jyväskylä & JyPK Jyväskylä.  AC Vantaa = merger between TiPS Vantaa & VJS Vantaa.  Ässät Pori = merger between RU-38 Pori & Karhut Pori.  FC Oulu = merger between OLS Oulu and OTP Oulu. A 2nd team of this merger was  1991 Oulu (prev. OLS Oulu, one could say). FC Oulu was dissolved in 1994.  BK-IFK Vaasa = merger between VIFK Vaasa & ABK-48 Vaasa.  PS Kemi = merger between KPT-85 Kemi & KePS Kemi.
