This document count all games in the European cups written per country and team. Included are the tournaments written below up to 2022/23 (2023/24 where indicated).
Abbreviations: CC = Cupwinners Cup (1960/61-98/99. The cup was discontinued in 1999 and merged into the UEFA Cup). CL = Champions League/European Cup (European Cup 1955/56-91/92. Champions league 1992/93-present. Groupplay introduced 1991/92.), COL = UEFA Conference Leauge (introduced 2021), EUL = Europa League (= merger of UEFA Cup and the UEFA-affiliated Intertoto Cup. First season: 2009/10). IC = Intertoto Cup (non-UEFA) (1962-94). ICFC = Inter Cities/Fairs Cup (1955-70/71). SC = (European) Supercup (1971/72-present). UC = UEFA Cup (1971/72-2008/09). UIC = Intertoto Cup (UEFA affiliated) (1995-2008) WTC = Worldteam Cup (Only the tournaments with all confederations represented are counted: 2000, 2005-present).
