Mozilla Firefox is the only Internet Browser that Casebook supports. Using a different browser like Google Chrome or Internet Explorer will cause Casebook to malfunction and you will receive an error message that reads: “Please use Firefox to view MaGIK! You've just loaded MaGIK in Internet Explorer. We apologize for the inconvenience, but MaGIK is optimized for use with Firefox and is not compatible with Internet Explorer".
If you are having trouble viewing the videos on the Help Resources site, you might not have Adobe Flash Player installed. To install it, paste this link in Firefox to install it and to be sure it installs in Firefox: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Mozilla Firefox provides a number of useful shortcuts that will help save you time. Some are explained below. But, you can also go to this website: http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly for more tips and tricks.
You can open multiple tabs in Casebook and work in a number of pages by clicking right clicking and opening links in a new tab or by clicking links while pressing down control.
The tabs for these pages appear at the top of the screen and describe the pages that are open. For instance, if a worker is in an Assessment of a specific person the browser tab will read Diane Zeta Assessment. If a worker is in a specific person’s case, the browser tab will read Allie Button Case. These descriptions will assist workers in quickly spotting which tab contains which information they need.
You can view a history of pages that you have been on by clicking on the small arrow key to the left of the refresh button. Clicking this will give you a list of all the pages that you have visited recently. This functionality will help you quickly navigate back to commonly used pages.
You can ‘Zoom In’ and ‘Zoom Out’ of Casebook, i.e. make the program look larger or smaller on the screen by using the Control + (plus) key to zoom in and the Control – (minus) key to zoom out. Clicking Control-0 (zero) key will return the screen to the default size.
You can search for content on a page by typing in Control + F to use the Search Page feature. This opens up a search window at the bottom of the page where you can type the word you're looking for in the text box. Then you will be taken to the first instance of that word and give some options for finding other instances of the word on the page.
