A new Collaborative Care eligibility application will only be created when a child between the age of 18-20 enters a new removal episode.
If a Collaborative Care removal episode is deleted, the related determination will be deleted as well. For example, Bill is 18.5 when he enters a removal episode. In the course of the case, you find out that his age was incorrectly entered into Casebook; Bill is really 17.5. Since he is no longer eligible for CC (because he's not 18 yet), his removal episode is no longer classified as a Collaborative Care removal episode. The Collaborative Care eligibility application will be deleted and a IV-E eligibility application will be created.
If a child is currently receiving EA eligibility, and becomes eligible for Collaborative Care, the EA eligibility period will end the day before the CC eligibility is effective. When this happens, the EA application will state “Closed as of _________” the date in question (should be the day before the start of the CC removal episode) in the application card.
