On the IV-E Eligibility Application, deprivation is a two part question. If yes is selected, you will be prompted to select the type of deprivation from a checklist. You must check at least one of the boxes, but it is good practice to check all that apply to accurately and fully describe the child's situation. An error message appears if you try to save the page without selecting types of deprivation. The image below illustrates the question with the checklist.
To answer this question:
There is no specific location where an FCM records information about deprivation. CEU workers will need to look in a variety of places to deduce whether deprivation exists from the facts gathered by talking to the FCM and from reading information the FCM has entered into Casebook. Information about the type of deprivation can be found:
By talking with the assigned FCM - information in Application Details menu
Person Profile Page - Linked from Application Details menu
The Identity and Contact card lists the child's living arrangements
The Family Network also displays living arrangements and relationships
The related Case/Assessment - Linked from Application Details menu
The Case/Assessment History Page - accessed from the case/assessment overview page
Where notes, information about Child and Family Team meetings, and other information is stored.
