The Child Protection Index (CPI) is a record of all people that are victims or perpetrators on a substantiated assessment. When workers substantiate an allegation and get supervisor approval for the assessment, the victims and perpetrators on that assessment are added to the CPI.
The CPI flag will not be removed from the victim or a perp when the substantiated assessment is in the Edit due to Appeal state until the new unsubstantiated assessment is approved by a supervisor or by central office if the assessment has a fatality or near-fatality on it.
The search result card will show a red text label ‘CPI’ to indicate they are now entered into the Index.
The CPI label will also appear in the auto-completer search results.
Person Page
The CPI label also appears on the Casebook Person page, on the Smart Bar at the top of the page and in Quick Information.
When using global search, you can filter the results so that only people in the CPI are shown.
Enter the term you want to search for in global search and Click Go.
On the page of search results, click CPI in the left side bar.
This will filter out all people who are not in the CPI.
For any assessment that met the criteria for the IC 31-33-26-15 rule a banner will be displayed on the assessment page indicating its exclusion from CPI calculation.
Text displayed in banner will read: "This assessment is no longer included in CPI calculations for these Perpetrator(s) and Victim(s) as per IC 31-33-26-15 which was in effect through 3-13-2012. Victims and Perpetrators may remain on the CPI if they were involved in other substantiated assessments"
Only users with Super Administrator roles have the ability to Add or Remove a CPI Override. Upon receiving a confirmed and approved request a Super Administrator will be able to utilize the "Add CPI Override" under the Action button of an Assessment.
Upon launching this action the Super Administrator will have to select the reason for the override - either the IC 31-33-26-15 rule or another reason that will be typed into a text box with the selected allegations.
Once the override is completed a banner will appear at the top of the Assessment informing viewers that an override has taken place and if specific allegation are overridden there will be a override icon next to the allegation.
The Override action will be documented on the History Page as a Workflow Event. The Workflow Event card will include the date the override was added, the name of the worker who initiated the override and what the reason for the override was and the selected allegations.
A CPI Override can also be removed. If a CPI Override is active the Action button will have an option available to "Remove the CPI Override". The work flow is similar to above but the result is the removal. There is also a Workflow Event card on the History Page for Override Removals. The flow of this work is below.
Again, only users with the role of Super Administrator will be able to initiate the override process.
