To answer this question:
Please refer to DCS Policy for the exact rules on when and what court language needs to be found in order for a child to be eligible.
All court hearings related to the focus child are listed in an expando menu in the bottom part of the card. Above the expando menu, Casebook lists the pieces of language that have, or have not, been found based upon the checkboxes marked by the CEU worker in the expando menu.
In Casebook, links to related court hearings can be found underneath the radio button questions. This is the same list that was referenced to select the specified relative. Click on the expando menu "All Court Hearings for [focus child]" to expand the list of related court hearings. In this list, the name of each court hearing is a link that will take you to the related hearing outcome page. All court hearings are arranged by year.
If there are files attached to the court hearing, you will see a small paperclip icon next to the linked hearing name.
You can hover your mouse over the paperclip icon to open a popup box that will display the file's name. Clicking the linked name will open the attached file.
Open each hearing name link in a new tab. On the edit court hearing page, you will find information about the Resulting Court Orders and any related uploaded files the FCM has attached.
After an eligibility application has been created and the CEU worker starts to enter information into it, the FCM may receive notifications about court language for eligibility files related to cases s/he is assigned to. If an FCM receives a notification about court language (ie: RE, REPP) s/he should be sure to upload all documentation related to court hearings on the assigned case so the CEU worker can find all the information s/he needs to complete the eligibility application.
This is an example of a edit court hearing page. The sections of most importance to CEU workers are the second section "File Uploads" and the next page of Court Outcomes. Workers can open the file by clicking on the file name. You should open all uploaded files to look for the necessary court language. Click Save and Proceed to move to the court outcomes screen.
This court order page shows "Child Returned Home" as the resulting order.
Toggling back to the eligibility applications, you can select the check boxes to indicate which pieces of court language have been found. It is good practice to fill in the radio buttons and check boxes as completely as possible, even if it seems duplicative. This information affects the way initial eligibility and subsequent reimbursability will be calculated by Casebook.
The court hearing section of the Manual Initial criteria is someone automated.
If RE is not found within 60 days, the eligibility application is automatically marked ineligible.
