In Casebook, all times need to be entered in your primary office’s time zone. Casebook shows your time zone on your user card of your person profile page.
Add slug: A darker blue bar that appears on blue edit pages that contain a plus button and the words "Add New..". When clicked these slugs expand into inline forms.
Admin: One user role in Casebook. Workers with this user role can access and perform all functionality in Casebook.
Asterisk: A small red star that indicates that a piece of information needs to be entered before the unit of work can be submitted.
Blue Edit Screen: In Casebook, the forms and cards workers edit and add information to are blue when they are in an editable state. This state is sometimes referred to as a Blue Edit Screen. When cards are not in an editable state, they usually appear yellow.
Calendar Date Completers: A text box that, when clicked, opens a small calendar the worker can use to select a date to fill in the text box.
Checkbox: A small square box. When clicked the box turns blue and a check mark appears inside to indicate the option has been selected.
Delete X: A small blue x found in the upper right corner for editable cards that allows the worker to delete sections of information.
Dirty State: An indication in Casebook that information has been added or edited on a page but not saved. The dirty state looks like a light blue/grey cross hatch over new information.
Dropdown Menu: A menu in Casebook that has a small black triangle on the right hand end of it. When the arrow is clicked, the menu expands to display a list of options and allows the worker to choose one option from the list. Once the option is selected, the menu collapses and the selected option is displayed.
Expando Arrow: A small arrow that points horizontally. When clicked it displays previously hidden information into an inline form and turns vertical.
Following a County: A feature in Casebook that allows users to receive notifications about events that occur in counties other than the one they are currently assigned to. Workers automatically receive relevant notifications for their county and can opt to follow additional counties on their User Profile Page.
Grey Exclamation Point: A small grey exclamation point with a white exclamation point at the center. This icon signifies an exception has been created for a necessary piece of information which was previously represented by a red exclamation point.
Inline edit form: A more detailed form that expands open when workers click an "add new" slug on a blue edit screen. Examples of inline edit forms are Add New Location and Add Relationship.
Integration: When two computer systems are linked together so that they can send information back and forth, communicating with each other. Examples of integrations with Casebook are: MaGIK Intake and KidTraks.
Progress Bar: a segmented bar that sits at the top of many pages in Casebook. It displays what step of a process a worker is currently on and helps workers track their work.
Plus Button: A small circle with a plus inside of it. When clicked it opens an editable card that must be saved individually.
Question Mark: A small blue circle with a white question mark inside. Indicates additional information about the question is provided by Casebook. The information provided could be about relevant policy or a tool tip.
Radio Button: A small, hollow circle that turns blue when clicked. Indicates when an answer is selected in a multiple choice question.
Red Exclamation Point: A small red circle with a white exclamation point at the center. When clicked a box displays that tells workers where they are missing needed information and provides a link that takes workers to the necessary page. On the overview page of a unit of work, these can be clicked to allow workers to create an exception. Once an exception has been created, the exclamation point turns grey.
Revision Slug: A dark grey bar that appears on resource profile pages when a resource is licensed and a key field is changed. The following revision produce slugs on licensed resources: applicants, household members, supervising agency, capacity, address, and waiver. The slug highlights the change to workers and gives them the ability to quickly undo it.
Settings Link: A link located in the top right corner of every page in Casebook. Takes workers to their User Profile Page where they can change their password and enter other contact information.
Text Box: A open field in which workers can enter a free-form, text answer.
Time: Dates can be entered by copy and pasting numbers with any punctuation. Once the information is saved, the date field will automatically update date to the format Casebook uses to store date information. For example, you can now enter 5.4.12 into the date field if something happened on May 4, 2012. If the numbers you entered are not recognized as a date by Casebook, you will receive an error message that reads, “Please enter a valid date using the following format: 1/29/2000”. To be recognized, you must enter a date that includes:
1 or 2 digits for month with any punctuation
1 or 2 digits for day with any punctuation
2 or 4 digits for year
With regard to Time the user may type any time-like string which will be auto-formatted to use HH:MM Am formatting. For example "3p" will automatically result in 3:00PM or the user could type "15" (as in 24 hour time) for the same result.
Slug: A horizontal box that appears at the top of page cards, often outlined in red or black. Acts as a reminder to workers that necessary tasks must be completed or new tasks have been generated.
Unit of Work: A single piece of work in Casebook, for example: a single assessment, case, or foster family.
User Role: In Casebook, a descriptive term that defines the functions and pages a worker can access and perform.
Warning Slug: In Casebook, this slug appears when a piece of information is missing.
