One of the unique aspects of Casebook is that both workers and people in Casebook have profiles and profile pictures. These "avatars" will help workers identify the people they need in Casebook faster and help to minimize duplicate people being created.
First you will need to take pictures of individuals on your cases and assessments. DCS has created a new form that is required for all picture subjects to sign. (Parents can sign for children under the age of consent). It is required that this form be signed for adults and children involved in an assessment or IA, and strongly recommended for children who are adjudicated CHINS. Please refer to the DCS policy on proper policy and procedure for picture taking.
Once the picture is taken, you must upload it and save it to your computer or email it to yourself. Once this is done you can upload it into Casebook.
Go to a person profile page
Click "Edit" on the Identity and Contact card
At the top of the page you will see an avatar with a browse button to the right.
Click "Browse". A box will open up that will allow you to locate the picture you want to set as the profile picture from your computer.
Once the picture is selected, click "Open" and then once the page reloads, click "Save" at the bottom of the Identity and Contact edit page.
Once complete, you should see the new picture on the main person page and in all thumbnail views of the person.
Sometimes, workers might use their cellphones to take photos that should be added to a case, assessment, or profile page. To use a photo taken on a cell phone:
Email the photo as an attachment into the case/assessment. The email address can be found at the bottom of the page. For more detailed instructions on how to email into a case/assessment click here.
Workers can then download the file to their computer, and re-upload it as the profile picture (as is explained above), or another file upload (read more here).
