Many people have one or two names that they use that are different from the one listed on their driver's license and/or birth certificate. These names are referred to as "Aliases" and can include:
maiden names
nicknames
different spellings of their names
different last names attributed to different parents, among others.
Let's take a look at how you can record these names on the individual's profile, so that you can search for them in Casebook.
Start out on an individual's person page.
Click "Edit" on the Identity and Contact card.
Directly underneath the name boxes, workers will see the "Add Alias" box. Click on the plus sign.
Once clicked, a box will expand with the following text boxes
Title
First name
Middle name
Last name
Suffix
Alias Type
Once workers fill in this info, they should click "Add" and then "Save" at the bottom of the page.
The new name will appear on the person profile view page, at the top until Aliases.
Workers can type the saved Alias into the Universal Search bar and the search results will turn results for both the original name and the alias. For instance, when searching for Mimi Bartoni, the first search result that returns is Maria Bartoni.
