On this page you will learn about the two main workflows licensing and resource workers complete. The first workflow involves verifying that resources in Casebook are unique and licensed. The second workflow involves the process resources move through to get licensed.

This licensing section reviews the features in Casebook that will be most commonly used by the Central Licensing Unit. The workflow begins when FCM's place a child in one of two resource types, Foster Family Home or Residential Resource. All resources are fed into a Resource Index specific to their type of resource (ie, all foster families are listed in one resource index). Once there, Licensing workers will verify that it is not a duplicate and if the resource is not yet licensed begin the licensing process for the resource.
The other main workflow that this section covers is the process that potential resources must go through to become fully licensed resources in the state of Indiana. In this workflow, resource applicants are submitted to become either a Foster Family Home, Residential Resource or Service Provider, and the Licensing workers ensure that all necessary components of the application are present and complete. These components are compiled in a number of checklists present in Casebook.

Submission Process for Resources
There are several time when resources need to be submitted for approval, for example: during the initial licensure workflow or license revision workflow. In each situation, RFCSs and LCPAs will have a 'Reason for Submission' dialog box when submitting the resource, returning it for edits, endorsing it to central office, or accepting. This dialog box will allow workers to add notes about their action before passing the resource through the workflow.
This dialog box looks like:
