On the cases tab of the dashboard, the Child Visit with Parents metric will displays the longest number of days since the last visit between a child and at least one parent. If there is a case without any recorded visits with a parent, the number that displays will be a count of the number of days since the child was removed from home.
The metric will display for a focus child when:
they are in an open placement, temporary absence, or runaway
has any involvement type other than Collaborative Care or JD/JS.
in an open removal episode and the involvement type is closed or awaiting approval, the metric will display
If the child is in a placement with a non-custodial parent and has a parent relationship with the person, the number of days since the last visit with that parent will be zero. The number of days since the last visit with anyone else the child has a parent relationships with will continue to count
Notes with contact add-ons that meet the criteria for a child visit with parent will be recorded and affect the metric regardless of what unit of work the note was added on.
The Child/Parent visit metric will display on the rollup display of the metric according to the following logic:
The longest number of days since a focus child on the case has gone without seeing at least one parent will display with the words ‘Days ago’ after it.
If no focus child has visited a parent for more than 90 days, ‘90+ days ago’ will display in the rollup.
If no parent qualifies for a visit with child, ‘N/A’ will display with a reason description. Possible reasons a parent may not qualify are: TPR, Parents Deceased, May Not Visit (as described on visitation plan)
If all parents have been TPR’ed, a dash and TPR will display in the Child Visit with Parent column..
If all parents are unknown, ‘N/A, Parents Unknown’ will display in the Child Visit with Parent column.
If all parents are deceased, ‘N/A, Parents Deceased’ will display on the Child Visit with Parent column.
If all parents are a combination of the above, we show N/A (or a dash for TPR) in the following order:
May Not Visit
TPR
Deceased
Unknown
On the expando of each case card, the Child/Parent visit metric will display according to the following logic:
The list of parents will display in the following order:
Lowest # of days
Highest # of days
May not Visit
‘May not Visit’ will display next to each parent’s name in the expando as indicated on an active visitation plan on any case the focus child is on.
TPR
‘TPR’ will display next to each parent’s name in the expando as indicated by a court hearing and outcome of Involuntary TPR granted or Voluntary TRP granted for that parent.
NOTE: TPR will count regardless of which case the court hearing and outcome has been entered on
Deceased
‘Deceased’ will display next to each parent’s name in the expando.
Unknown
‘N/A’ will display next to the parent’s name (ie: Unknown, Unknown) in the expando if the parent is unknown.
Unknown is defined as anyone with Unknown as the first or last name, or when the first or last name is blank.
If a parent meets more than one criteria, the condition displays according to the following hierarchy:
Deceased
May Not Visit
TPR
Unknown
# days since last visit
If there has never been a recorded visit we assume the last one happened on the day of removal.
If a focus child has no recorded parent relationships in Casebook, ‘No known parents’ will display in the expando in the visits section.
