A removal episode can only end through a Court Hearing.
To end a Removal Episode
Scroll to the Placements & Locations card of a Case, Assessment (Note Removal Episodes cannot be ended from a Profile Page since Court Hearings need to be associated with a Case or Assessment)
Click on Update Location and select End Removal Episode
A pop-up appears with the option to continue to create the Court Hearing or Cancel. Click Continue
The Court Hearings page opens allowing you to enter details about the hearing and outcome.

Removal episodes can end with a number of court hearing/outcome combinations that designate the child is officially leaving the supervision and care of DCS. The episode ends on the hearing date of the discharge reason, not at the end of that particular placement. See the table below for court hearing/outcome combinations that end removal episodes
When you Save the court hearing a pop-up appears displaying the summary of changes that will be made to removal locations as a result of the court hearing updates.
Click Save to save the court hearing or Cancel to continue editing the court hearing
Ending a Removal Episode updates the following
On the Case, Assessment or Person Profile page the child is displayed in the At Home section of the Placements & Locations card with the date the removal ended.
On the Historical Placements page the Removal Episode as well as any open Removal Locations associated with this Removal Episode will be ended.
Click Reason to view details about the outcome that ended this Removal Episode.
