In Casebook, the search function finds units of work that are not linked to the dashboard. Searching for People, Assessments, Cases, Resources, and Eligibility Files Casebook can be performed through the Global Search bar at the top right-hand corner of every screen. Type the name of any Client, Assessment, Case, or Resource and click the magnifying glass icon.
Casebook displays each search result in its own card. Within each card, a summary of a person's demographic information or basic Assessment or Case information helps to quickly identify the person or unit of work being searched for.
A search will only trigger when a search term has been entered. A new search will not trigger if you try to search with only spaces or if spaces are the only addition to the search term.
Note:
Search returns the top 250 results
The search results are filtered by using the "All Types" drop-down. Clicking the words All Types will open a list of possible search criteria. The search results will only display results based on the selected search criteria.
Regardless of whether workers filter their search from the Global Search bar, they will be given the ability to apply or change a filter on the search results page. A list of possible filters displays on the left side of the search results page.
On the search results page, click any filter to apply that filter and change the list of displayed results. To remove a filter, click the word clear that appears next to some filter categories.
At the top of the Search Results page, you will see “Display XX of 250 results.” This text will also display which filters are currently being used for that specific search, including People, County, the Unit of Work, or any others that are selected.
To clear all filters, click "Clear All Filters" at the bottom of the list of search filters.
A brief explanation of each search filter is given below. It is possible for workers to use multiple filters in the same search.
Exact Matches only: only results that match the exact Spelling, SSN, DOB, and ID numbers of the search term will display.
Exclude Aliases: aliases are excluded when searching for individuals
People: only people will display. Workers can further filter this category by CPI and an age range they select
Assessments: only assessments will display
Cases: only cases will display
Resources: only resources will. Workers can further filter this category by type of resource
County: will display all units of work for a given county. Workers can select a specific county from a drop-down menu or select all. County filters will only display assessments, cases, and resources. People are not filtered by county.
The search result card for people shows a variety of information about that person in Casebook to help workers distinguish between duplicate people in search results.
The top of the card lists basic demographic information about the person, including noting whether the person is in the CPI on the top right corner of the card and their Magik ID number. There is also a link to the person’s profile page at the top of the card. Below the demographic information, any cases, assessments, or eligibility files the person is involved in are listed, with links to each unit of work.
The search result cards for resources also display specific information, including:
Resource Name
Score - (Only displayed for super admin) - The score shows the accuracy of the search for its results.

Capacity information
License status
License information
Address
Phone number
Resource ID (FFH-XXXXXXXXXXX)
County of the resource

13. Relative only indicator("R") 14. LCPA indicator ("LCPA")
15. Legal Name - (Only available for Placement Provider and Residential Resource)
The information displayed for a given resource type will be the same as that displayed in the Autocompleter as described here: Creating Placements (scroll to the bottom of the page)
These cards will display:
License State: Inquiry, I.A. Pending, Licensed, Pending Revocation, etc.
Notable information including, Exception, Waiver, Variance, Annual and Relicensure Review, Corrective Action Plans
Review Status Important Dates including Application Dates, Expiration Dates, and Due Dates
Search results that match the spelling of the search criteria exactly and those that sound like the search criteria will populate for these categories. Casebook's "Soundex" capabilities return results that are not only the exact name but also names that sound like other names. For example, if a worker is looking for Bart Simpson but types in Blart Slimpson, the search results will still return Bart Simpson. This means that workers do not have to have the exact information in front of them at all times in order to find the individual that they need.
Searching by an alias is possible within Casebook. Searching for a resource name followed by a Foster Family or Residential Resource is supported as well.
Typing in a single name will turn up Profile Pages, Assessments, Cases, and Eligibility Files.
Each returned card is populated with identifying information to the worker that helps them select the correct work. This information can include, depending on how much information has been entered on the person page:
Personal Demographic Information
Date of birth
Address and contact information
Age
Gender
Race
Caseworker
County
Date Added On
You can also search by person or UOW ID number in Autocompleters, as well as in Global Search to locate the desired person or Unit of Work. The person ID number can be found at the end of the URL that displays on the main page of the person/UOW profile or in the Quick Info box on the right-hand side of the page.
Note: When searching only with ID numbers (11 digit numbers) only a person or UoW IDs that are an exact match will be returned. The sounds-like functionality will be disabled.
Searching with a person's DOB is also supported within Casebook. To search using DOB, enter the DOB as mm/dd/yyyy within Global Search. Global Search for DOB supports hyphens ( - ), forward slashes ( / ), and periods ( . ).
