In Casebook, an emergency contact is a type of relationship you can add to a person. Once a child is between the ages of 17-19, and is in a placement, you will need to add an emergency contact for the child.
To remind you to add an emergency contact for an older youth, a warning message will appear in the Family Network card on the case or assessment the placement took place on. This message will have a link that will take you directly to the child’s relationship edit page, where you will add the emergency contact.
Navigate to the person page you want to set the emergency contact for; this person page will be linked from the warning message found in the Family Network card. For example, if you want to make Grandma the emergency contact for Judy, go to Judy's person page.
Scroll to the Family Network card and click edit.
Click Add Relationship
Enter the name of the person that will be the emergency contact.
Select Emergency Contact as the relationships type.
Click Add
The emergency contact will show up as an informal support in the Family Network and on the relationship edit screen.
