When DCS involvement in a child's life is no longer needed, a FCM can submit the case for closure. Before a case can be submitted for closure:
All removal episodes and placements need to be ended with a date and time
All focus children involvement types need to be closed with a date
There are no necessary plans, tools, or services that must be added
The case must be assigned
At the bottom of the page, workers will see a Submit for Approval button.
When clicked, if all work is properly completed, a popup box will appear asking the FCM to designate a supervisor to submit the case to. By default, the worker's assigned supervisor will be selected, but workers have the option of choosing another supervisor using a person autocomplete text box.
If all work has not been completed properly, a error message will appear at the top of the screen alerting the worker to what changes need to be made to the case.
Once a case has been submitted for supervisor review, several things will happen in Casebook.
The selected supervisor will receive a notification that a case has been submitted to them.
The case progress bar will move to In Supervisor Review
The State listed in the Quick Information menu will change to In Supervisor Review.
A workflow event will be added to the History Page
Supervisors can send the Case back for edits by clicking the “Return for Edits” button at the bottom of the page. When clicked a box appears that allows the supervisor to fill in the reason why they are returning the case.
If the case is returned for edits, beneath the chevron progress bar, there will be a notification bar stating the case has been returned for edits with the date and the supervisor's name.
There will also be a link to the comments. You can hover over this link to preview the comments or click it to be taken to the history page. The history page will be filtered for workflow event and will be where the full comments are stored.
