In Casebook, after a child has been adopted, the Central Eligibility Unit will create a post-adopt version of the child. Only CEU workers will create a post-adopt version of a child.
Upon adoption finalization, the FCM will:
Create a Final Decree of Adoption hearing with an outcome of Adoption finalized with/without subsidy.
Upload the Final Decree of Adoption and the signed Adoption Subsidy Agreement into the Final Decree of Adoption hearing.
Return to the adopted child’s Pre-Adoption Plan and select Submit at the bottom of the plan page to notify CEU of finalization.
Send an e-mail to DCS Centralized Eligibility (Centralized.Eligibility@dcs.IN.gov) notifying them the adoption finalization has been completed.
The post-adopt version of the child may have the same name, social security number, and other demographic information as the pre-adopt version. To prevent the two versions of the child from being merged together, CEU workers will add the pre-adopt version of the child to the Do-Not-Merge list on the post-adopt version of the child’s profile page.
Indications a child has been adopted
If a worker tries to merge the pre and post adopt versions of the child, they will receive a warning message that reads, “CEU or Administrators have prohibited these two profiles from being merged with one another.”
This message is the only indication to workers that the child may have been adopted.
There is no flag on the person page indicating the child has been adopted on the pre or post adopt version of the child’s profile page.
The “this person has the same DOB/SSN as another person” message will not appear between the pre and post adopt versions of the child
The “this person has the same DOB/SSN as another person” message will appear on other possible duplicates for either version of the child.
