Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am Taenia solium, commonly known as the pork tapeworm. I am a parasitic flatworm with a complex life cycle. My eggs are ingested by pigs, where they hatch into larvae. I mature into an adult worm in the human intestines. I attach to the intestinal wall using hooks and suckers on my scolex. My body consists of segments called proglottids, which contain eggs. larvae can cause serious disease if they infect the human brain, known as neurocysticercosis. Proper cooking of pork and good hygiene practices can prevent infection. Thank you visit again.
