Amphiuma
Amphiuma
Hello Friends, Welcome To Zoology Museum, Shri Shivaji Science College Nagpur. I am Amphiuma, an aquatic salamander with an elongated, eel-like body and tiny limbs. Despite having legs, I rely more on undulating movements of my body for swimming. I live in slow-moving freshwater environments, such as swamps and ponds, feeding on fish, insects, and small invertebrates. I have the ability to breathe through my skin and lungs, allowing me to survive in low-oxygen environments. I reproduce by laying eggs in moist, protected areas near water, and I care for the eggs until they hatch. Thank you visit again.
