Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I am Notopterus, known as the knifefish. I have a long, slender body with a continuous fin along my back. I’m native to freshwater habitats in Southeast Asia. I use my fin to glide through the water, almost like a knife. I’m a nocturnal predator, feeding on smaller fish and insects. I can produce weak electrical pulses to navigate and find prey. My scales are smooth and silver, giving me a reflective sheen. I can survive in low-oxygen waters due to my swim bladder. I’m often seen swimming in reverse as well as forwards. I’m valued as an aquarium fish for my unique appearance. Thank you visit again.
