Dentalium

Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur.  I am Dentalium, commonly known as a tusk shell.My body is encased in a long, tubular shell that resembles a tusk.  I have a foot that I use to burrow into the sediment. My head lacks distinct sensory organs.  I filter feed by capturing small particles with my tentacles. My shell opens at both ends, allowing water to flow through. I am a part of the mollusk family.
