Hello friends welcome to Zoology Museum Shri Shivaji Science college, Nagpur. I’m Rhizostoma, commonly known as the barrel jellyfish. I’m one of the largest jellyfish in the world. My bell can grow up to 1 meter in diameter. I have no tentacles, only eight frilly arms for feeding. I feed on plankton and small fish, filtering them with my arms. My sting is mild and usually harmless to humans. I’m often found in temperate waters, especially in the Atlantic. I drift with ocean currents as I lack strong swimming abilities. I play an essential role in ocean ecosystems as both predator and prey. I’m admired for my translucent, bluish-white appearance. Thank you visit again.
