Spongilla

Hello friends welcome to museum of Zoology Department, Shri Shivaji Science College, Nagpur. I am Spongilla, a freshwater sponge.I inhabit lakes, rivers, and streams.My body is made of siliceous spicules and spongin fibers. My body is often green due to symbiotic algae. I provide habitat for aquatic invertebrates. I play a role in nutrient cycling in freshwater ecosystems. Thank you visit again.
